Join your friends and neighbors for a night of traditional American folk music and dancing presented by the Skamokawa and Grays River Granges on Friday night, March 19 at the newly refurbished Skamokawa Grange Hall, from 8 til 11 pm.
This dance will feature contra, circle and square dances--traditional dances with English origins and long a part of American rural life. Veteran caller Rich Goss is our host and dance caller; the popular Portland band, Cascade Crossing, will provide the lively music. Learn the basics at 7:30—the dance begins at 8. There will also be several waltzes. All dances are taught and easy to learn.
The Granges will host a refreshment and dessert table with homemade pies, cookie plates and beverages available.
All ages, singles, couples and families are welcome. Admission is $8. Kids under 12 and accompanied by an adult, free.
Skamokawa Grange is located within sight of SR4, about 25 miles west of Longview. Turn north on Skamokawa Valley Road at the bridge, then a left onto Fairgrounds Road.
